 Practice Information:
Dr. Snell is certified in the use of Graston Technique (GT), a scientifically researched, hands-on, technique now used by over 30 professional and college sports teams to care for their elite athletes. After dealing with steadily worsening, chronic knee pain for 8-10 years, Dr. Snell received near total relief of his pain with just a few GT treatments. This success prompted him to learn the method, and he has used it to help many Portland area patients who thought that they just had to learn to deal with their chronic pain. Here's a partial list of other conditions that respond well to this approach:
carpal tunnel syndrome
tennis elbow
plantar fascitis
hip pain
low back pain
neck pain
shoulder pain

 Practice Message:
Our clinic uses evidence-based methods. This means that we read and use the available scientific literature to guide us in our treatments. We freely communicate with, refer to, and utilize the services of other medical and alternative health care providers around Portland. In fact many of our new chiropractic patients are surprised to hear of us by way of a referral from their family medical doctor.
We are also proud of our history as an early adopter of effective, innovative, scientifically based pain solutions. Two of these new therapy methods are Graston Technique (www.grastontechnique.com) and Active Therapeutic Movement(ATM). Combining these new innovations with thorough patient education helps to reduce dependency on drugs, support devices and doctors of all kinds. Whether its helping you to get quick results with your acute condition or doing the detective work to get to the bottom of a stubborn chronic issue, count on an approach in which you can work hand-in-hand with your doctor to reach your goals.
NEWS!!!
Our clinic is honored to have been chosen as a test site for a National Institutes of Health (NIH) research study on chronic low back pain. This 2.8 million dollar funding represents the largest grant that NIH has ever provided for complementary and alternative health research. The grant was awarded to Western States Chiropractic College in Portland, and will be selecting participants between April, 2007 until April, 2010.
